Virgin Media Discussion Thread

Hmm... Just got R36 and you don't have to login to view the config info, strange!

Also Facebook is not loading for me (it was doing this before I got R36 too) anyone else having issues?

Okay guys need router recommendations I don't want to spend £80 on a N56.

All I want is steady rock solid wireless with decent range.

Basically anything that is better than the SuperHub (so pretty much everything).

Please suggest, thanks.

I have a DIR 615 sitting downstairs linked to an old virgin modem... is it actually half decent?! As in, will it provide better wireless performance than the superhub itself?

Success!

Tried an old USB wifi dongle that I had, and now I get steady pings on wireless.

must have been my laptop card. Oh well. better now :D

Is anyone having issues accessing Twitter? Since I've got back from work, I've had no luck working at all.

I can resolve the IP address but I get no ping response. This happens with Facebook from time to time too. I've reset my modem several times and flushed my cache.. even tried IE!

It's only started happening the past few months but they changed something in the Blizzard Downloader and when it tries to connect it will often crash the router and it will automatically restart.

Do you have the firewall enabled on the superhub. I always ran my superhub with the firewall disabled and never had issues. I got R36 the other week and reactivated the firewall. the difference is you can set how aggressive the firewall protection is. With the firewall set to high protection it wouldn't allow blizzard downloader to work.

Didn't bother faffing around with it i just disabled it again :)

I know a guy who knows a guy that knows this other guy who will ask another guy for the answer.

No just kidding im emailing our broadband guru to find out for you guys

100mb runs fine on the vmng300, i was running 105/5 on mine for months and only changed to the superhub recently.

so i got the R36 update, but, how do i check the upload speed i have?

Operation Config

Primary Upstream Service Flow SFID 1985
Max Traffic Rate 10250000 bps

The highlighted part is your upload speed.

For those who are on 100mb and don't have 10mb up yet, if the normal doubling in your area is done phone up retentions and get them to change your code from xxl100 to 100bb, 100bb is the old 100/10 package code and it enables 10mb up instantly. If the person on the other end won't do it just hang up and try again with someone else.
