Braquo...a bit like a french version of The Shield

Has anyone else been watching Braquo. I'm currently up to episode 4 of season 1 and loving it, it surpasses most US made cop shows massively.

It really has a 'The Shield' feel about it, a special squad of 4 cops who take down some of the worst criminals but aren't afraid to cross the line to meet their own ends.

The characterization is fantastic, a lot of effort has gone into fleshing out each person, very brutal at times as well.

Excellent show just finished season 2 episode 2 and it just gets better and better imo.

How is that a bad thing, The Shield is one of the best shows of the last decade and in some ways, even better than The Wire.

Don't be mislead by thinking it's a Shield re-hash, it's not, it moves faster, is more realistic and has better characterisation.

I finished Season 2 last night, this is now in my top 10 TV shows of all time, it's bloody fantastic.

It's a real shame that many people won't give this a go due to *shock horror* subtitles!

So far it's better than The Shield.

Just ordered the Season 1&2 Blu Ray set. I loved The Shield and have high hopes for this show I knew nothing about until 10 mins ago.

Looks promising, just watching "The Wire" at the moment.

The thing with me and subs is that I either read them too intently and thus miss the action or I forget to read them at all.!

Absolutely loved the shield.

Tried watching the wire afterwards but got peed off with the unnecessary swearing.

Confused ? Isn't swearing just language. Would make a guess its a realistic depiction of how people living in that environment communicate. The wire was known for its realism, it's one of the reasons it was such a good show and praised for it.

Your missing out by being negatively judgmental on the grounds of "unnececessary swearing "
