Anyone going i46 this August?

Pretty sure Insomnia is only the biggest in the UK. MLG events are probably bigger than Insomnia.

Not sure about IPLs size.

I haven't been to one yet. Mainly because I'm mainly interested in SC2 and Dignitas's SC2 team is pretty lackluster. I'd go to Dreamhack because there'd be some actual pros there XD

My ticket is booked. :) I will be an i-series virgin. Can't wait.

TFuuuuuuuuuu

does the pope **** in the woods!!!

Ofc TFU are going, think we got 17 booked and paid so far, all been going since i40!.... cant wait!! We finished 3rd in the Bf3 comp and won some money, this summer we going for 2nd!!

Best part of the weekend for me without a shadow of doubt is the Pub quiz followed by the beer stacking competition.... we could have won it this year some some ***hole knocked out table and i completly lost my head with him, went a bit ott looking back :(

Also we decided to try the ice skating that was next to the venue.... what a laugh, despite 2 of our guys smashing their face in!!

I really do think Overclockers should look into getting a stand there.

3000+ gamers? im sure you can sell some stuff there. :D

Had this convo b4, costs like 4k to put a stand up!

Do you guys reckon its worth getting there on the thursday? Getting set up and whatever else?

Ahhh hell yeah, we as a clan aim to get there for 11am, we all help each other put up the tents then go to weatherspoons to get some food and a few light beers (i44 i drunk to many on the Thursday and wrecked my weekend :( ) then back to set up the PC for an extra night of gaming and drinking

About 8 in our group now. :)

It was you i meet at i44 wasn't it? If it was you you'll understand why i cant remember haha. You should try and sit by us mate.

Ahh ok.. my brother-in-law keeps going on about that for next year but i fear i might be too old.. My reflexes aren't what they used to be. Thanks for the link

Pfft what? Your never too old for a Lan, one of our guys is 32 and i know a few of the older gamers go who are 40+. Also we have 3 guys who come from Chelmsford funny enough. Only entered Bf3 comp this time normally we just get smashed all weekend

i5 - slept under my desk
i6 - slept in a random corridor
i12 - slept upstairs in a random empty room
i17 - slept outside in a weird looking tent provided for people without their own!

I wouldn't be surprised if people are sleeping in the next city over if that progression is anything to go by :p I haven't been since lol

I went to i36 with a friend, we were lucky enough to find someone willing to drive down and pick us up / take us back , so it wasnt that bad ... but sleeping in tents and stuff was realy lame and it was wet and cold ... i gave up with that after the first night and just slept at the pc untill people bothered me... then i just drank energy drinks and played CS:S none stop.

Went to i19 .... March 2003 I believe. But just found it too expensive to keep going, and the tournaments we stood no chance because it drew in the cash prizes, so it was always and only ever won by seriously pro clans/groups who only gamed, never socialised.

Was a shame really, but that's why I started running my own LAN's for our clan, we had them twice a year, for 12 or so people. Wouldn't mind picking it back up again, but thought I wouldn't get the interest in it.

Not keen on these lan things, the first and last one i went to had too many teenagers/egos for my liking. But what do you expect. It's video games, alcohol and a sleepover.

So tempted to go. Been thinking of going to one of these events for years, should really do it before i get too old. Do they have a OAP section :D

I used to go many years ago when they hosted the lan party at Swindon Football club ground, and then more recently at Newbury racecourse.

Tempted to come along and just say hello and see whats changed. :)
