Regretting buying Stalker Pripyat now!

Played it for 20 mins last night and guess you need to have played the first ones to understand it. Has no tips as to what I'm supposed to be doing, dont know what most of the icons on screen are for (I'm seeing a green icon of a gun and armour with what looks like a crack down the middle - does that mean something is up with my gun or armour??). Eventually, after wandering a bit and shooting some dogs and pig things I got killed by something invisible that may be a bug or may be an 'anomoly', dunno as its not explained what these anomolies are or what I do with them.

Hope it gets better but initial impressions are its maybe an add-on to a core game that may have contained tips or a wee tutorial itself. Also got put off by the title sequence where the voiceover didn't say the same things as the subtitles on screen, shoddy. Not asking for hand holding but is there any clue as the game progresses as to what i'm supposed to be doing?

Will give it another go and hope it gets better.

As you know from previous page, i purchased Darksiders. But there is something about it, normally when i purchase something on steam which is also on my wishlist, after my purchase it gets removed by iteself from list. But after my activation of the game (which was successful and currenty on my games), it's still on wishlist and even though i sycncyed my account on steamgifts my entries on darksiders not got cancelled, i tried to use support but it requires membership, is there anything i can do manually about this? I mean is this because of cookies or something? I restarted steam but its still on my wishlist.
And other day i used the code for shadowgrounds survivor on my steam which worked and now i cant enter shadowground free giveaways on steamgifts.com, i was expecting same. :/

Maybe it brings me luck for steamgifts lol, im gonna remove tomorrow :D

Now i need shank 1-2, insanely twisted shadow planet, alice madness returns(but us price not Turkey one O_O (double price of US.)), half life set, warp, rayman origins and ibomber defense pasific.

Maybe i get altitude and shoot many robots too, but i dont have real life friends who use steam :/

I had the exact same feeling with clear sky doesn't explain anything it tells you to use your machine and tells you to throw bolts into the abnormalitys how who knows what are bolts who knows what keys who knows what are the abnormalities who knows!!! As like you I wonder if the first explained everything and the rest are follow on's I've added the complete mod but have yet to play again not impressed so far seems pretty shoddy not sure why so many recommend it tbh but will try to carry on and see what happens

To be fair, this is STALKER throughout. You probably irradiated yourself to death, if you picked up any of the artifacts. Yes you can hoard them to sell, but some are slightly radioactive, so if you're wearing a thin jacket (which you start out with) then if offers 0 radiation resistance.

Only when you upgrade some stuff can you carry certain items safely. And yes, guns do wear down with use, the more and faster you fire (spray n pray) the quicker they wear out.
 
I missed SSF4 AE 2012, was it a flash sale? If it comes back up I'll buy it, if not I'll just buy it at 50% discount on the final day of sales

Ta. Was wondering whether it was worth getting the 1st to work out what its all about but just had another 10 min stint on it and nah, definitely not for me, visuals, interface and gameplay all stink. If you say they're all similar then won't persevere.

So if it comes up and anyone thinks it looks a bit Fallout-ish, it aint!!
