New car for the end of the year

As per the title, I'm probably going to get a new car towards the end of the year. Budget will be no more than £15k. I've got a few in mind:

FD2 - the daddy of Type R's (NSX not included). But I can't help but think that it's more of the same considering I had a modified DC5 for 3 years? They also seem to struggle selling, and combined with a hefty price for a 5 year old Civic, that puts me off somewhat. Perhaps I should go drive one again and see..
E90 M3. I daresay I could pick one in budget, but would I be going for a high mileage/rough one? I'm not sure what prices will be doing. I'm also put off by the running costs (certainly more than an Evo, below, looking at varying threads on here).
Evo 9 - I've wanted 4WD boost since I was a teenager. I know a lot about Evo's, I know how much they cost and I know where I can get it serviced at a reasonable price. I also think one would be cheaper to run than an M3. It's definitely the one I've got my heart set on.
RS4 - Same as the M3 bracket I'd have thought?

Anything else in the bracket? If I went for an Evo, the next car after that would have to be an M3 or RS4 I think, but I can't help but think that I need to scratch the itch before becoming all grown up with something German.
 
Go for the Evo, its the kind of car if you've had a hankering for one you've just got to go for it if you're in the position for one!

Saying that i went the Subaru route so of course i'd always recommend one of them but the Evo is a truly badass car.
 
That link doesn't work for me.

There's something about the RS4 that I prefer over the M3, can't quite put my finger on it though. I do feel I need to do the Evo thing before I 'grow up' though. Saying that my mate's 40 and commutes in an Evo 5.
 
Your not gonna get an RS4 for 15k without a truckload of miles on it. Or an E90 M3

Dare I chuck in a Subaru RB320? I was looking at those before going RS4.
 
Do you need 4 seats?

Maybe a Z4M roadster/coupe or 370Z? (just throwing it out there)

Don't need 4 seats as there's a second car on the drive that's a 5 door, but I do like having proper rear seats and a decent sized boot for trips to the 'ring and so on. I don't think I could live with a Z4M tbh, I do like them, just couldn't see myself owning one.

Yeah I'm realising this. RB320's seem to hold their value really well, and I think I'd prefer a mint 9 and pocket the change.
 
Evo owners - how easy/hard is the red on the Evo 8/9 to keep red?

Also, what differences are there between the 8 MR and the 9?
