Grabbed The Missing Link DLC for DE:HR just now, and also somewhat tempted by Splinter Cell Double Agent and Chaos Theory, which I've never played.

I played and enjoyed the original SC and Pandora Tomorrow when they came out and also liked Conviction well enough I guess (though less than the other two). However, looking at the screenshots for both DA and CT they look really dated, and I'm in two minds as to whether they're likely to stand up to being enjoyable games still 6 or 7 years after their initial release.

Anyone played these recently and got an opinion?

I recently replayed Chaos Theory and you could not be further from the truth. I actually posted in the Now playing thread a few weeks ago that I couldn't believe how good it looked(I think it has had some kind of HD facelift possibly). It is also by far the best SC game imo, and one of, if not the best stealth game ever made for me. The bank heist level is one of my favourites.

Double Agent is a marmite game tbh. It is for me the weakest SC game, but it is still fairly enjoyable and has some good levels. I wouldn't call it a bad game though, just pales in comparison to the other SC games

Far Cry 2 is nothing like the first one, stay away from it as it's boring and a waste of money. It could be great, but it's not, period.

Red Orchestra with a controller... lol. That's all I'm gonna say.

Guess Im gonna stay away from it, considering Red Orchestra :). thx

Quite tempted by Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, watched a couple of vids and it looks insane,:p gotta be worth 2.99 for the title alone! Would make a great name for a Metal band!:D

I snapped it up and i held out until it was on the -75% :D , i would have still bought it at -40% at the end of the steam sale.

Been good this year myself - bought nothing :D. The games are only cheap if you play them. Having done a few Steam sales over the years I have learn't my error in my ways. Still got unplayed games from the previous sales. :O

Ah cool, well it's good to know it holds up. Although now I've got to buy it...

At least you may have saved me a couple of quid on DA, though :)

Yeah, I guess it looks okay there. Between this and Pighardia's positive comments it's nudged me to get CT anyway, so I can add that my "too play" (or perhaps "will never get around to playing") list.
