£18k compo claim, because i cant wear high heels

This sort of stuff really makes my blood boil, this person will cost all of us on our premiums thanks to some ridiculously expensive claim. Something needs to be done about these bogus compensations that are so popular these days.

Apparently this what happened:

" Peugeot was hit by a Suzuki 4X4 which passed her on the inside before pulling out to avoid a parked vehicle. " Telegraph

It wasn't her fault, but 20k? Really?

So she was undertaken on an urban city road and then hit by the same car and she has (apparently) now been injured as a result?

For once her claim sounds almost reasonable to me

To be honest you've picked a bit of a poo example to rant about :p. I mean she was a victim of a stupid driver it would appear, she doesn't seem to be the typical compo chasing chav from the judges account of her character (and charity work, etc) and, to be fair, if beauty pageants are her thing, not being able to wear high heels without pain could well be a genuine career messer-upper. Reasonable claim is reasonable.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that there's a lot more to this than meets the eye. In general this sort of case wouldn't make the news (let's face it, there are a thousand such cases every year), but someone was alerted to the high heels bit and thought it was worth a punt. I would guess that actually the plaintiff mentioned a whole load of things that resulted from her back injury, one of which was the heels thing. But that was the only bit which was "interesting" so that's the only bit that got reported. Things like "hurts when I pick things up" or "hurts when I bend down" are nowhere near as interesting, so get lost from the story. As said though, just a guess.
