Telescopes ???

Hi, anyone know if I'm likely to get a better telescope for a total telescope newbie Price Approx £150 ish than the Celestron AstroMaster 130EQ-MD motorised.

Also would I be able to take pictures through this with a Nikon D5000 ?

Odds are you'll not get a scope plus mount for £150 suitable for astrophotography, new. The mount matters more than the scope, and the mount on that comes with that Celestron isn't great. Good enough for optical view, not good enough for photography.

I would say get a dobsonian, either a Heritage 130p or save a bit for a Skyliner 150p and use it to learn the sky - you can take some decent photos of the moon/planets with it too. Don't worry about photography when you're just getting into astronomy, especially with a limited budget.

A dob + a webcam can get some good planetary photos..
