The gear listed under this for games means it'll run the game at what settings in-game efficiently? Max settings or the preset right below that? Also at what resolution? For example, Battlefield 3's recommended requirements:
  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
  • Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU
  • RAM: 4GB
  • Graphics card: DirectX 11 Nvidia or AMD ATI card, Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 or ATI Radeon 6950.
  • Graphics card memory: 1 GB
  • Sound card: DirectX compatibl sound card
  • Hard drive: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version

Would this mean with this rig you're able to run BF3 on Ultra at 1080p with FPS that won't dip below 30?

Thanks for explaining this. :)

I would say that system would run on high settings at 1080p
Battlefield 3 is limited when there is only 1GB of video memory. If you could get 2 GB of video memory then that would sure give better performance.

Although I have to say, I can't tell any difference between high and ultra on BF3

I would prefer to have slightly lover video settings to ensure that my fps stays high.

Lot's of people have said that too. Even saw a YT video showing the two different presets side by side and I saw no difference my self, but lead myself to believe that YT's encoding probably ruined the difference that was there. Anyways, I'll be picking this game up and seeing for myself. I have an i5-3450 OC'd to 3.7ghz and a HD 7850 OC'd to HD 7950 levels so I know I can eat through this game on Ultra, but if I'm able to play on high and get an FPS boost with minimal or no visual degradation, Awesome!

This should give you ultra settings.

The main kicker in BF3 is the anti-aliasing. If you use post processing AA (FXAA?), which gives slightly worse results (personally I can't tell the difference), but improves the frame rates a great deal.
