Hi all, I've started a new job and as part of that i get to visit shops - about 20 a week. I have about 400 in my area an am already starting to loose track of which I've visited and which i haven't.

Someone pointed batchgeo out to me and i thought i was sorted :) but...

I need to be able to mark the ones i've visited some how. I was hoping i could edit the marker colour after and change it to green or something..

Can anyone help or suggest another free website/program to do this?

thanks!

Can't you just get a print out of the list of shops and put an old fashioned tick next to the ones you've done? Of course, you must have considered this - just curious.

Might be an app for smartphones, maybe you could do something like taking a photo of each shop.

Then using Picasa or something would show the shops and their locations since the photos would have GPS co-ords also you'd be able to go to map view on your phone and quickly see if you'd been to a shop before.

You need to be able to back this up, don't rely on external services for this if it's essential, do a spreadsheet and update it yourself or pay for something which includes backup.

Good point! the geo maps works off an .xls file. I've added a column for visited y/n and that seems to work ok. Just takes an age to update as it has to rebuild the whole map.

The xls file i can save on the works hdd.

My kind of thinking. Works computers are just to slow and google aps etc are restricted.
