how rare is the nexus 7?

I've heard stock is scarce but there's one right in front of me. Very nice.

Tempted just to buy it because ...it's there.

I'd seen that thread of course but hadn't considered buying one until I saw one.

You know how it is, im in a shopping centre posting on a phone and wondered if anybody had any real idea of their rarity.
 
They're not rare at all, just demand is outstripping supply atm.

Hence why you are hearing people post "where is my nexus 7?!".
 
Well I've now answered my own question.

I decided to buy it but wanted to check it carefully for defects (it was the display model). Was happy and I gave the salesman the nod. He went away to get the rest of the gubbins and came back explaining that they weren't allowed to sell it.

Stopped in to another retail outlet at an out of town park wher the guy told me that the retailer in question have none for sale in the UK. Oh well.

Worryingly the display model at the second place had noticeable stuck pixels.

Many of them seem to be defective. All the display models I've seen have had various defects lol, quite shocking really.
 
Probably a good thing they didn't have one to sell me.

Currently have HTC Desire, Galaxy Note, Playbook, Asus TF300 and iPad. Though funds from the Galaxy S2 I sold on Friday would have covered this one :-)

The build issues are very disappointing though. Looks like a really good piece of kit. Would probably be trying to source one right now but I think I'll leave it a bit.

Haha, you have no need for a Nexus 7! :p
 
I was in my local Indian today and asked how many they'd had returned....

Only one unit and that was because of a faulty charger block !
