Hey guys,

So I've caught it. Upgrading itch has really kicked in. You can see my current spec system in my sig. I've recently just got a Radeon 6950 and now have the urge to get more stuff. Im not made of money, so a 256gb ssd is out of the question lol. Im picking up a cheap used 64gb crucial c300 off a friend simply for quick boot times, and battlefield 3. I was thinking of RAM, but I don't know. Can you guys recommend anything? cheers!

Another 4GB of Ram wouldn't hurt and is fairly cheap, you could get a 8GB kit and sell your dominators without much outlay.

you know i was actually offered 30 for my dominators, and 40 would get me 8gb of ripjaws. I can only really run 2 slots because I think I've got a dead slot on my board, tried switching ram and what not but whenever I had 4 sticks in I had the red light on my sabertooth.
http://www.overclock.net/t/1189667/asus-sabertooth-p67-ram-issue that was the issue, I cant solve it, dont know whats wrong with it. Im only keeping the board really due to the good support for graphics cards (ran crossfire great) and because if i were to go 8gb/16gb, I wouldnt need all 4 slots tbh. just a bit gutted its faulty. (well, i think its faulty)

Well another set of Ram would help you rule out any problems with the original and with 4 sticks total you could finally definitively see if you have a dead slot. Stick to 1.5v Ram, the Corsair Vengeance LP stuff ran great in my P67 Sabertooth board but anything like that would be fine, RipJaws, HyperX etc.

On the faulty ram note....check for bent cpu pins....friends was the same....lane 3 was faulty.

Regarding the upgrade, how about sleeved cables or a new case?

I would go with the RAM suggestions. Forking out for a second card for crossfire is probably not worth it seeing as you have only recently got one. Enjoy it for a bit longer.
