**** The Official Superman - Man Of Steel Discussion Thread ****

They should make a Death of Superman that story was great, that way they could tale the series in any direction they thought best.
Doing a couple of movies on the various Superman clones would keep the story alive an would always be going in a different direction from other films.
Add some thing new for movie fans of the character.

But il deffo be watching Superman man of steal, never gets old see one flying with out the aid of a motor :P
This are the films that kids dreams were made of ,well until we hit puberty or watched porkys any way lol

Be interesting to see where they go after Zod.

Personally think Luthor would be stupid, real step down in terms of menace at-least on screen. Kryptonite **** doesn't play out well these days.

Think next would have to be Brainiac or Doomsday.

Yeah, going to Lex after Zod would be a terrible let down.

Brainiac would be superb on the big screen.

I think the Costner voice over dialogue is a straight lift from a Grant Morrison comic.

The Russell Crowe voiceover dialogue is the one from a Grant Morrison comic: All Star Superman to be exact.

No one has yet to mention where the Costner one derives from.

That'll be it. Not a major Superman fan so my knowledge is sketchy.

Watched the trailer last night - "meh" at best.

I dont have high hopes for it after the last few BUT I hope it's brilliant.

Yup - loved it.

With Nolan at the helm it should be good. I just hope it doesn't disappoint.

Then what's with the Meh?

Batman Begins Teaser was almost identical in format, you saw even less of batman in the teaser.

As for Christopher Nolan input, he wrote the story with Goyer (same as the batman trilogy) and clearly the Dark Knight creative team of Nolan, Goyer, Thompson all executive producing have had an input from the looks of things.

T.E.A.S.E.R not Trailer. Go hunt down the cam copy of the comic con trailer, everything seen so far makes this look special.

I really want to like Superman I really do, but I just find him so dull.

I think my main problem is that he is just way too powerful. If any drama occurs n the movie it is basically because he screwed up. He should be imperial in his success and management of situations.
The reason I liked early Smallville was because it was essentially a character drama with a superhero who had pretty limited powers. As an origin story he is still interesting but after he is established as a superhero it just becomes dull (IMHO).

Anyone not a fan of the LOTR soundtrack on the trailer, try this.

Not to sure JW should be used in the new film though.

So redoing the same story again? Fantastic! It's not like there's quite a few comic books to pick a story from.

Not my cup of tea, will give this a miss at the pctures.
