Hi!

1.2875 VID

Gigabyte P35C-DS3R

DDR3 1600MHz CL9 running 1:1 with CL8 timings at the moment. So 1200MHz

[email protected] 400x8 1.312v-1.328v (1.425v BIOS) 59c max on D-14. (stressing now P95 Test1 passed)

Usually run it at 3.24GHz 360x9 with 1.28v (1.385v BIOS) which is pretty much stock for my chip. Horrible Vdroop lol.

Also has anyone tried pencil mod on this board?

I have tried to get higher clocks like 3.6GHz, it can boot into windows but isn't stable even at 1.45v in BIOS.

I currently have DIMM voltage at 1.65v, MCH and FSB at +.1v

Just looking for some tips to get the most out of my chip.

Generally Q6600 need around 1.48~1.5v for 3.6GHz, if it is not one of those low VID chip.

My old Q6600 G0 was 1.3125 VID, and it needed 1.5V for 3.6GHz stable; yours is a bit lower, but I would think you would still ned 1.48 minimum for 3.6GHz stable.

1.4 vcore on my old q6600 for 3.6ghz, 1.2750 vid. 1.5200 at 3.8ghz. Generally i found clocking on the 9x multiplier to be a lot easier.

Indeed, got pretty lucky with that chip. Air cooled with a lapped TRUE black, cpu lapped as well.

Seen a few on here that managed 4ghz, not many though.

Wow, I can boot at 3.8 but something like 1.5V in bios. Lucky on that chip! Not sure about those temps though, I know the Q6600 can handle 70c but I just don't like it, especially if it's on the D-14.

My chip doesn't seem to like higher clocks, works fine on this at 400MHz FSB but if I up it to x9 it's not stable, I don't get it lol.

Also just to ask on here rather than create a new thread:

I got some new 120mm fans today. The exhaust is fine, however no matter what I put in the front intake, when the fans are on high you can hear them making a strange whizzing sound. I don't think they are obstructed I think maybe the perforated fan grills on my case are blocking the air supply to them, I have a Coolermaster Silencio 550.

Has anyone just cut out a hole for the fan with a pair of snips? I did it on my old case but that was just to try and get more airflow. If it makes it worse I can't go back lol.

Have you tried swapping the fans around? It could possibly be a faulty bearing. Ive used many fans against perforated grills but ive never experienced any strange noises.

I will just try the fan loose I think, it should still make a weird noise if it's bearing? can't be bothered to take my gpu out again lol. Thanks for the tip.

Fan completely silent at 1300 rpm out of the fan placement. Extremely silent, astonished lol. Moving a lot of air too very pleased with this fan but seems the fan placement on this case is rubbish, will definetally cut out those holes.

edit; Ok, snips won't work this case is STRONK. Anyone know a good tool other than a dremel? I used a hammer and chisel last time and don't want to do that to this case. Also would be worried I'd break my chisel on this case at the moment, bloody strong it is!
