6950 CF vs 7970/50

As much as I want to upgrade from a 6950cf setup to a single card I have to agree that it's not a good enough change to warrant it, so I'll be waiting until next year for my upgrade.

The change comes in when you want to use windowed mode, full screen windowed mode.

Or just the game been more compatible with single gpu setups!

Sums it up for me, my 6950>70 CF@1GHz AC Extreme setup is on the whole, faster than a highly oc'ed watercooled 7970@1080p, been really itching for a new toy, but no point in it tbh, at best it's a sidegrade.

Performance on the whole has been exceptional, as I said, I'm just itching for a new toy to play with.

You wouldn't be going CrossFire to play in windowed mode in the first place.

If folks read up about the tech before jumping in and going CrossFire, they would be aware of that.

Generally speaking, compatibility doesn't come into CrossFire, it's scaling, if it works with a single gpu, it's going to work with CrossFire, but it might only be using the one card instead of both in a title that just won't scale(generally older titles).:)
