Radio 1 Essential Mix Paul Oakenfold now!!!!

There was some good tunes in that mix, will have to figure out what was what later was a bit late by the time I got to bed last night :D
 
Just listened to this last night during a run :eek: before I knew what was happening i'd done 5 miles. Truely awesome mix.
 
imo oakenfold hasn't done a good mix since 2003 when he sold out.

however, just over 30 mins in on this and i have enjoyed what i've heard so far. doesn't try too hard, flows, nicely and perfect for this sun.

hope the rest is as good, cheers for the tip.

All the big names have had to change their style otherwise they'd be out of work. Tiesto did the same, most of his new stuff is torture to listen to compared to his classics.

sasha and digweed didn't. well, they changed their style but never sold out to hollywood.

Still changed their style though as I said. Once DJ's like Tiesto have became used to making millions every year they aren't going to continue to make the old stuff that doesn't attract the same money or crowds anymore. They know they have to change with the times if they want to keep making the high levels of money.

IIRC Oakenfold is one of the richest DJ's.

tiesto was a producer before he was a dj. i still class tiesto as a producer more than a dj and late 90's, he was untouchable as far as trance production went (apart from maybe tilt)

oakenfold, digweed, sasha, even though they have all made tunes (though only sasha goes solo though he has produced with jxl - digweed uses muir, oakenfold use(s) osborne) so it's the style of stuff they play that has changed. oakenfold started playing some complete and utter cheese 2002> after he got his madonna and linkin park fix :o sasha and digweed have never forgotten their 4/4 prog routes, even if the production has changed.
