Pulled a SATA port off my motherboard

I beleive they are, but double check the CPU support list for the motherboard your looking at.

I must admit I have almost pulled the cable and forgot about the clip.

It is a pain, but we learn from our mistakes big or small, I have lost count amount of things I have broke amd swore and cursed :(

Could the rest of my hardware be damaged because of this? I don't want to buy another mobo only to find some of my bits have become faulty

Even if other bits are faulty you'd still have to replace the mobo.

If you buy online you're covered by the distance selling act for a few days, just make sure you unpackage it VERY carefully so when you package it back up it's like new.

Took the board out and this is what the SATA looks like:

The underneath looks the same as the other SATA's so nothings damages there. I don't understand why it wont power on??

It works! Took the board out again and had a look around, I cut up strips of wiring sleeves and slotted them over each pin to ensure it doesn't short. Plugged all the cables back in and it boots as per normal :)

Who said you wanted that sata port anyway!

Managed to snap the holdering guide thingy on my second pci-e slot, and the other day managed to snap the clip holding gpu 1 in place!

Annoying more than anything
