Midfielders in particular, over the past few seasons we've had a lot of £10m+ midfielders (Fabregas, Lampard, Gerrard, Arshavin, Nani etc) this year there is basically Silva at £10m and everyone else under that.

edit: maybe the one area it is a little bit tougher is good players at average clubs have maybe gone up a bit, probably fewer goalscoring midielders available at £6m or less. Unless you take a punt on players not obvously guarenteed to start every match, it seems you need to spend upwards of £6.5m this time around to get much threat from that department.

The real issue I have is quite a few new managers about (Spurs, Villa, Liverpool, Swansea, Norwich, WBA etc) making it difficult to know who will be in/out for favour for the start of the season. Villa in particular, I look at their squad and think maybe a few good deals to be had based on player ability to price ratio, but too much of a gamble on whether they will be starting or not. The at Liverpool, Joe Cole the forgotten man potential bargain at £6m, will Rodgers bring him back in from the cold, who knows.

Cole might be a very good call, I'll keep an eye on liverpools friendlies to see if he's getting game tie. Then again judging players by their showing in friendlies is never really a good call, that's what led me to having Vaz Te (during his Bolton days) and Bradley Wright-Phillips in my starting teams before now.
 
On another note Wilson at Stoke might not be a bad call for a cheap defender, 4.5 mil and pretty much a shoe in to start most matches. Stoke weren't up to it defensively so much last season, however I'd put that more down to the Europa fixtures, normally we're pretty strong at the back.

I would imagine I will still do quite a bit of editing before the season starts as more transfers happen but thats my starting point :p

And Friedel will normally play I just fancy Reading at home have less chance of conceeding than Spurs away.
 
Changed my team around quite a bit since the other day. A few risks in my squad, Koscielny at the back and Podolski up front but I reckon Poldi will have a good season and Steve Bould can make the defence much more efficient than it has been. Hopefully Holt will have another productive season.

I was tempted by several man City players but only about 3 or 4 players are guaranteed starters.

Hmm, some teams are playing twice? This merits further investigation!

I've only got 1 from each, if RVP was certain to stay at Arsenal I'd probably have him in from the start (Arsenal @ home v Sunderland). We're away from home to Everton so even if we get away with 3 points it'll still probably be a tight game (no clean sheet, no big scorers). Rooney will be in my team for week 2 though (v Fulham @ home)
 
All we need to do now is try and rope Gibbo into supplying some prizes! £50 voucher to first place in League, £25 for H2H? A product of some sort?
 
Back in this year auto re-joined for me :) Done2 drafts all ready opted for Mata over Hazard as not sure on how well Hazard will settle tbh.

Anyone else noticed Chelsea & Reading playing twice in the first gameweek? I've put Mata and Torres in for this reason alone.
