Hi Guys,

Currently looking into upgrading my graphics card from a Radeon 5850 to a Nvidia 670.

I notice that there are two varieties, the 2096Mb and the 4096 Mb.

Just wanted to know if its worth splurging the extra £80 to get the card with 4096Mb. What benefits do yo uget with the extra video card memory? I mainly game in BF3, Arma 2 and am hoping to play GW2 and Planetside 2 so would it be worthwhile ivnesting i nthe card with more memory?

Cheers.

Are there any games that would use more than 2GB?

Max Payne 3 does but I wouldn't spend an extra £80 or whatever for that. And I think its VRAM usage is broken anyway.

A heavily modded Skyrim can get over 2GB.

For 99.9% of users 2GB is more than enough for a single 1080p screen.

Cool, I never checked my much VRAM is taken during games, that is why wanted to ask.
Sounds like no point going for higher VRAM versions if not using multi screens etc.

I wanted to know whether I should get the 4gb evga 680 to power 3 monitors at 2560x1440. DVI-D, DVI-I, HDMI 1.4a. I would use the monitors for Maya, Cinema 4D, After Effects blah blah.. and maybe a little battefield 3.

You're going to realistically want 3 cards and 4 GB to drive 3 screens at that res. can probably get away with less if you sacrifice settings.
