***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

When I was on checkrom there was a zip that you could flash that boosted the volume on everything. Was so loud on max volume that the speaker started to distort :p

think i have it now, however in my phone app all the top headings seem to be one wrong, my dialler comes up when i press log, the log comes up under favourites?

I've got a problem with my s3. When making or receiving a call the screen turns off.

It does this even if the phone is not moved and is just left laying on my desk.
Just before the screen turns off a symbol of a phone handset appears in the left hand side of the notification bar at the top.

If I've made the call I have to reboot the phone to get a working screen back. If somebody has called me, after they've hung up I can get the screen back by pressing the power button - which takes me to the Lock Screen.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

That icon mean there's issue with your dialer app. Is your phone stock? I know how to fix it but it needs to be rooted.

You can try clearing the cache on the phone, contacts and google service framework within settings.

I looked at the cache for Contacts but it was 0 bytes
Phone was the same. Then I foolishly thought I'd try disabling Contacts and re-enabling it. But after I disabled it it didn't show me an option to re-enable.
So I restarted the phone to see if that would make the Contacts service restart (it didn't) and now I have no Phone or Contacts icons in the task bar, lock screen or list of Apps!

Also, after each time I reboot a message box pops up saying
"Unfortunately Gallery has stopped"
and then
"Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped."

Ooops.
Any way to get this back to how it was before I started messing with it?

No suggestions then guys? :(

Would it help to reset the phone if I rooted it and installed a new firmware? I'm currently on ALF1 which Kies says is the newest (I believe BLG8 is actually the latest, right?)

Thanks for any help.

The disable items are at the bottom of the list of apps. Scroll down enable them again.
Ah! Got it. Thank you.

OK so the phone is back to how it was before but I still have the problem where the screen goes blank when I make a call and I have to reboot the phone to end the call and get the screen back on.
