Can you spray your motheboard PCB ?

Haha yea it is :) my second monitor normally has the cam controls on ;)

and the DVD under it is "Idiocracy" brilliant film :cool:


Bad News I'm afraid I have ran out of spray paint :( so will need to stock up somehow :( I'll try and get someone to get me some at the weekend :(

Nice case so far. Laser CNC at a school? Lucky man

A warning with HDDs. They have a hole in them, probably more than one. Waterproofing them is a nightmare. I think the holes are all under the main label (based on the single drive I took to pieces) so you may be alright. I'd probably suggest taking all the stickers off and carefully blocking the holes you find, as well as putting tape around the joint between plate and casting. Be a real shame to get paint onto the internal platter.

Solid idea this one, quite like it. Someone online drew all over his board in UV pen with no ill effects, which bodes well for painting the board. Good call

Ok, well Thanks for the hole advice I'll look for that but the drive I'm using to test it on don't even work normally I just want to see what it looks like and how effective it is, then consider if its worth doing to more drives.

Most of my stuff is experimental :)

As for the Lazer CNC cutter yeah school got it this year it was £23,000 its amazing though well worth it as you can see.

But don't use the gold paint. ;)

Black looks a lot better than the gold - good to see you're having fun, I hope it all works okay. Heavy overclockers at competitions spray boards with insulating spray to protect against condensation, and that can't be good for heat build-up, though I guess that's only for a short amount of time...
 
Well money mainly, I should be able to get hold of some spray soon, I kinda moved onto my new scratch build, however I'm upgrading my second PC when my new motherboard arrives so I will spray the motherboard out of my existing 2nd PC as there will be no loss :)

P.S. Motherboard should arrive on monday

Well good news just been slaving away (for 3 hours) to get my new motherboard to work silly CMOS battery :P, so if/when I can get hold of some spray my old motherboard wont know what hit it :D

oh sweet i hate them little batterys too mine still dont work on my old pc had it 5 years now lol and what mobo are you planing on spraying ? ive got a spare a7n8x-e which is a horrible yellow brown colour lol i would like 2 spary or make a little quite pc to download stuff over night :cool:

well I have 2 very old motherboards now in the horrible yellow/brown colour it looks like sick to be honest, will start with them and work up :P

I have an old Athlon XP2400+ pc that I have barely ever used so if I can findsome where with decent paint ill give it a shot as well. xD
 
Someone had to do it, thankyou ninja for having the guts and posting it on a forum, when in reality its a inoperative and new look on modding that people are yet to explore, hope it goes well, will keep an eye on it.
