How dose this new build sound?

XFX PSUs are manufactured by Seasonic, one of the top PSU makers out there, who also manufacture PSUs for other companies such as Corsair.

The cheapest out of the 3 is this one: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-000-XF&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=

And it's on offer until next Wednesday.

i got an XFX650pro the other week, installed it and after a day the fan started to rattle and got louder under load so i sent it back for a refund apparently its a known problem with them. now i got the corsair in this week only offer last week and its just silent and solid as a rock. i wont be going near XFX again. i understand people say its a good brand with UK RMA base but my first time with their products was a bad time.

if you was too upgrade from a i5 2500k to a i5 3570k it would be a waste of money but if are buying a 2500k over the 3570k then that also is a waste.
i have a 2500k that does 5.2ghz but im upgrading cos my son is having my rig and guess what im buying ?

a 3570k

It's all about luck really. Sometimes the odd bad one gets through the quality checks. Mate got the same 850w XFX I linked, and it was quieter than my HX1000 :(.

For sound is it quite? its also a lot cheaper than the coolermaster silent pro so That extra cash could be used on a fan controller do u reccomend a certain type of controller? i like the aerocool full touch

the xfx xxx editions are having some problems with ticking fans recently.
nothing major, its just the fans dont like being undervolted
i guess its due to cost cutting measures and they're using cheaper fans

Really? Either a bad batch of fans or they cheaped that part out too much... My friend must have got lucky then .

How about this one? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-054-CS&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=

EDIT: AX model here that can power 670 SLi no problems but is sadly out of stock: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-027-CS&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=

ya, for the moment i would say either the antec hcg or the corsair ax/tx/hx models tbh

I'd say everything you listed (if the RAM deal is good) except switch out the i5 2500k for a i5 3570k and you should have yourself a good gaming build. I'm not saying the i5 2500k is bad, its still really good, you'll just be losing out on the i5 3570k's features especially on a Z77 motherboard.

believe me it might not sound nothing major but when you have the ticking none stop and it get louder when gaming its highly annoying. i have an extremely short temper when it comes to annoying repetitive sounds.

a HX750 will power 670's in SLI no problem, remember it is a 80 plus silver rating and when tested for maximum load it could handle 900W in extreme power draw while still being efficient. it said it could easily have been an 850.

Same here, took 3 weeks for a replacement and the replacement was noisy still, just without a ticking noise, but do realise that these are very well priced and xfx don't make the fans. I won't talk about OCUK.....ok, i will, I called them and told them about the second unit being loud, and the guy talked to me like i'm daft or something and never offered a replacement.

xxx edition should be better as they have a quieter fan installed.

the Corsairs are priced higher, so i'd say risk it with an xfx xxx and use DSR if it's faulty, DON'T be fobbed off with a replacement ;)

+ go with the 3570k, why are you asking advice and then not accepting it for he sake of <£10 ?
