PC Upgrade - Worth it?

I'm thinking of upgrading from an i7-950 & GTX570, 6GB Ram system to
I7-3770k, Gtx670, 16gb Ram, Asus P8Z77-Pro Motherboard, 256gb SSD.

My main use is FPS & Strategy gaming and to future proof (as much as I can afford). The build is just over £900 but I'll recoup £300 from the sale of my other parts I replace.

I don't intend over clocking just yet.

Do you think it'll give me a decent performance upgrade for the money?

3770k is no better than a 3570k for gaming.
tbh, if your' 750 isnt already overclocked and still uses the stock heatsink, you should get a aftermarket heatsink and overclock that.
and definitely add an ssd
only get a gpu upgrade if you're experiencing low fps
ram-wise, if you're not already maxing 6gb, getting 16gb will be absolutely no help at all
dont really have to change that much tbh

I prefer this myself

YOUR BASKET
1 x Cooler Master Hyper 612S CPU Cooler (Socket LGA1366/1156/1155/775/AM3/AM2+/AM2) £32.99
Total : £42.89 (includes shipping : £8.25).

Comes with a tube of reusable paste (matterhorn just has a single use sachet). Why does this matter? You could switch back to the stock cooler when you do want to sell the mobo bundle and keep the cooler.

It's geared towards being quiet, the fans attach much easier and this makes adding a second fan more appealing on the 612S.

My case is an Antrec300. The cheaper the better but can't be cooking anything. How do I actually overclock and to what speed & besides the processor is there anything else that could use some OC.

I have
6GB 3x2 CMP6GX3M3A1600C8 DHX
ASUS P6X58D-E Motherboard
i7-950 3.06G s1366 Processor
1280MB EVGA GTX570 Graphics Card

Cheers

I wouldn't bother upgrading unless you run a crazy resolution. Just add an ssd and you'll have a blazing fast system. I can't imagine why you'd need anything more than a core i7 950 tbh, i'm still plodding along happily with a 3.4ghz phenom 2 and a 5850 :D
