no gtx 660 till august?

bit pointless if its £250
Agreed. If they are gonna price it that high, they should have just disable some cores and make it £180 rather than £250 with no core disabled.

May be let's hope the Ti's is Nvidia's version of "7870", and hope the non Ti version is like the "7850"...

With that said, I still think it would be overpriced, considering I see the 7850 as overpriced as well, as it is at £180+ rather than £160~£170.

If it matches the 7870 for £250 it will sell, lots of people will pay a small premium for nvidia, righly or wrongly. I'll make a small bet with myself though, not many reviewers will be testing the 660 at 1440p and 1600p :D

well the 7950 sells for roughly the same price(ish) as a 7870, the 7870 is really out of place atm tbh
As I've said...the performance between the two cards are minimal. The only reason why AMD insisting on putting TWO cards between the 7850 and 7970 is to drive up the price of 7970. 7950 should had been at 7870 price at the first place, and there was no need for 7870. Prices for this gen cards in general is a rip off...7950 and 7970 should had been the same launch price as 6950 and 7950. And then we got 7770 and 7750 which are new gen cards that are SLOWER than the last gen card they replace (7770 slower than 6850, 7750 slower than 5770/6770) WTF.

yeah I'm the one who wants nvidia card but i never pay 43£ more over hd 7870 for the same performance, and better perf. in BF3.

im guessing if they do the 670 will just go up...
or maybe its just the launch price of 660 that is bad and ppl have to wait an age for sensible :(

that makes no sense but wotever :P

may that will explain you better what i meant.

Sorry, still make no sense to me as the only difference is the the TDP

(7770 slower than 6850, 7750 slower than 5770/6770) .

7770 actually replaces 6770 not 6850 (which in turn is replaced by 7850) and 7750 replaces 6750 not 5770/6770 . I think what you mean is from their price points they are each others replacements. Prices are just going up in general.

7870 was for the mobile space mate.

I go by the pricing rather than what numbers AMD paint on the label. And if we did go by the model numbers, that would make the 6850 and 6870 replacement of 5850 and 5870 huh?
