Would this pump/res be good enough?

The EK is a much better pump than the XSPC combo. The XSPC has extremely low overhead pressure drop so any thing above its spec causes problems. You be fine with what you have ordered.

It will be my first time watercooling.

Need to ask somemore questons really.

I only paid £25 for the pump & res combo. So i am happy.

I havent used one of those, but it looks like it might work and its designed for the pump.

Unfotunately I don't think OcUk shop has any at the moment, but if you do a G search for "anti vibration pump mount" you will probably find one. The Petrastech Gel-Stuff is just a fat square of silicone gel and is the best, but its hard to get hold of. Would be great if OcUk could get decent stock of the Gel-Stuff

i have just popped an EK4 in the bottom of my case and it hardly murmours its sitting on a sound deadening pad anyway fitted to the bottom panel of my case but i havent got it fixed in position.

ek rcomend you use orings with any fittings on the pumps btw so use barbs/compresions with O rings preferably

Thats what I'm saying, its not loud per se, and with a bad its nice and quiet, but if its touching the metal case it can resonate and the case amplifies that resonance. Its the same with all the higher speed pumps, even a D5 on the higher settings does the same, you need to isolate it from the metal case, the part you have listed has foam pads and a metal bracket so is probably a good bet. craarc and I are just advocating using something like that.

I have gel pads on all my pumps because I can't be bothered to try and suspend them somewhere and just have them sitting on a flat metal surface in my cases. (except for the one rig with two DDC's in a bayres. But then the Bayres is on rubber grommets to help. Also one mans noise is another mans silence so get what you can, test it out and then fiddle till you are happy.

Do you have to fit o ring's?

I don't think I've purchased a fitting in years that didn't have o'rings already fitted so you should be fine :)
