Crazy guy cycled from China to London.. for the Olympics

I found this crazy guy in Chinatown and interviewed him so thought Id put it on here - he cycled for 2 years on a rickshaw to London for the Olympics!

He said he wanted a ticket for the opening ceremony, not sure if he ever got one though.

Did you ask how he funded it? That's the first thing I thought of. I imagine a farmer from China doesn't have a lot, so he probably had to rely on the kindness of others on his travels which is fantastic that he made it this far.
 
Was just reading about this guy on the bbc website. He got a ticket for the opening ceremony.

"Mr Chen had said his aim was to take part in the opener, after spreading the "Olympic spirit" on a two-year trip crossing 16 countries.

While he did not achieve a part at short notice, he did get to watch from inside the stadium after a Chinese person in London saw his story and offered him a ticket.

Mr Chen was also given a ticket to watch the badminton competition on Saturday by event company ATP Event Experts, after his story was broadcast on Dutch radio."

He did! He got a ticket to the opening and Badminton match apparently, although I bet he is still in Chinatown.:p He intends to rickshaw from north to south america for the Rio Olympics - nutter.
 
Rubbish

1 - How did he sustain himself and maintain that bike
2 - How did he pass all the border controls with that bike thing
3 - He didnt cycle into the UK, unless he rode illegally up the channel tunnel with trains flying past him
4 - Make him video himself going home to maybe back up how he did it

You should have asked the serious questions before letting him get so much coverage and feeding on the masses 'Olympic believe anything to do with it Fever'

1. He made money by delivering items on the way/couriering and slept in the Rickshaw.
2. Why not? He has a password with him.
3. Boat?? (its very cheap).
4. He is going to Rio (apparently)..

I can definitely understand the suspicion but it is possible to have done it - especially if you have little else to do in life..
