Group Policy - what is preventing wallpaper change?!

Hi guys,

Until about an hour ago my custom wallpaper was automatically applied to all of the users in my group policy via active desktop... now users appear to have reverted back to the 'standard blue' desktop (xp), I admit, I was fiddling but I can't seem to get the setting to work again :(

The active desktop settings have stayed the same so something else is preventing my settings from being applied - any ideas? I', using server 2003.

Thanks.

You aren't giving us much to go on, what were you fiddling with?

Possibly you've made a change in the way the policy is applied, blocked inheritance down though AD, or another one is conflicting with it. Perhaps the clients just need time to update, did you do a gpupdate /force and check your gpresult ?

If you didn't alter the group policy itself I'd guess you're either now applying it to the wrong OU or the OU you are applying to doesn't allow it to be inherited downwards.

I was only playing with the settings inside of the gp :D

And as far as I know, I didn't actually change anything that could have had an effect on anything?! This one's really foxed me...

I'll do a gpupdate and see what happens ;)

Might want to look into RSOP to find out what settings are being applied and denied.

Might also want to create a read only account for Group Policy so you can look and not touch in the future!
