Chest pain...

Good ph readings in this area is about 6.6-7.4ph which is usually walking about but it soon drops sitting, laying or sleeping especially

Am i right in thinking that pH 7 is neutral? So 7.4 is alcaline?

(i'm not doubting you, just curious as i didnt know that the gullet could be naturally alcaline. Or is that due to anti-heartburn tablets?)

I had chest pain this month last year. It was just as you described, but It would also feel like a rush of blood through my chest and head to, it kept me off work for 6 weeks it was that bad. Had ECGs and xrays, nothing showed, to this day they have no idea what it was. Since then ive been on Gaviscon going through a big bottle of it about every 3 weeks. Im sure I have something similar to you. Never had a cam down or up :o

wait till you have to have a camera up the other end without sedation

good to hear your on the mend.

Had it already, didn't bother me at all tbh

Anyway I went into hospital today and gave the ph probe wireless reader to them and they got a full 48hr chart read out...

It's bad :(:(:(

There was a number of times, even when getting up at 7am my acidity levels above the stomach were not far of that of battery acid. He showed me the graph it was going on for nearly 2hrs from 6am till 8am thats just one example. He's put me back on the medication or risk damage, a further 48hr test needs to be done and then i need to discuss an operation :(

Took a heartburn pill 75mg at about 5pm and my acidity level is still 1.6ph which is well below where it should be

6-7ph is what it should be at

I'm back home now, in a lot of pain and very tired but i need the meds to kick in as i'm back on them under strict instructions, 2nd 48hr test is ongoing too.

This sucks

Best of luck with fighting this. I've suffered from 'digestive' problems since I was 12 and can safely say that it's not a bundle of laughs. I don't have the same severity of symptoms as you but having been in hospital 3 times for related problems I Really hope they can pin down the cause of your suffering sooner rather than later.

Just to let everyone know at some point soon i'm going to be having a Laparoscopic surgery operation, just waiting on the date :(. Spoke to my specialist today

You'll be fine. It is amazing what they can do these days. My gf had key hole surgery a while back and it all healed up real quick. Just have lots of rest on the other side of the operation. It is more scary for those of us who remain awake and have to wait for our loved ones to return :)
