Hi guys just installed a new 7850 gigabyte windforce and my HDMI image is blurry like when you run SD through a HDTV. Resoloution is 1920x1080 monitor is a syncmaster P2450 second display is running on DVI-I and is fine, crystal clear. Its also lagging when dragging on the HDMI screen leaving a trail of windows.

What am i missing?

have you installed the driver for the monitor? (I know it sounds silly but I remember that being the answer to a previous "HDMI blurry compared to DVI" type thread)

Seems bit premature saying you have problems and you haven't even installed the monitor driver:rolleyes:
Regards

what? learn to read fella, im an IT professional and all drivers are installed and up to date, whatever is causing this isnt something as simple as not having a driver installed.

It looks like the HDMI to DVI adapter has only improved but not solved the issue, i still get large lag dragging on the desktop, 3D apps and games appear ok though its desktop related.

You need to make sure to set the HDMI input on the monitor to PC (not sure if this goes for all monitors) because at default it thinks it is an input from a Blu-ray player or whatever (not even sure why it makes a difference what source it is from). On our family computer, the screen was quite blurry with a HDMI connection until I changed the HDMI 1 input on the monitor to PC mode. This might explain why it was fixed when you used a DVI adapter, since the DVI input on a monitor will be set to PC as default. Try with the HDMI cable again, but change the input source on the monitor menu to PC.

i would try adjusting the screen settings (on the screen itself, not the computer settings), it might just be some sharpness filter causing it.

Thanks guys, seems sorted now with the hdmi-vga adapter still dont know what the prob is tho, gonna set up 4 screens anyway with 2 display port to vga adapters :) thanks for the input :D
