What Happens When You Overclock Your GPU Too Far

And what happens if we apply too much voltage? :D

BANG.

When my core is too high on my ln2 bios my pc will actually hard lock and need to be rebooted.

When my memory is too high my fps will drop, higher it will be a disco on the screen, higher than that idk you have to be silly to do it on purpose.

Lol. Memory allows more room for error before it fails.

yes

o/cing memory too high is like stalling a petrol. "oh no, wait! I'm going to stall! look!" *poof*

o/cing a gpu too high is like stalling a diesel. "oh n-" *SHUDDERSHUDDERSHUDDER crash.*

I believe that is a brilliant technical explanation.

Memory, screen usually has purple lines down it and in games graphical glitches would occur for example some textures wouldn't load and random white triangles in the sky.

GPU, the fps usually drops slowly intill it hard locks and you end up with a dead gpu. :)

1.3V or over I believe...He was advised well but chose to ignore it. Dave Beast tried to help him but sadly Mal thought he knew best and blew his card :(

No amount of varnish was saving that baby :D

Haha! :D

Hopefully next time he'll take the advise, but then again we are talking about Mal. :p

Did he varnish the 7970 Lightning in the end? If he did, there goes the warranty. :(
