Morning all,

I have another Kickstarter to feast your eyes over! :D

Kickstart.com - ChargeCard

ChargeCard is a USB cable that's thin enough to fit easily into your wallet, purse or pocket.

---

It looks pretty good to me :) With the amount of USB ports in the world these days, it could be useful to have this in your wallet. Comes to around £17ish (With International shipping).

There is also an Android version, if that is what takes your fancy :p

Any thoughts? :)

Thoughts? It looks completely useless to me. It's hugely bigger than a stumpy dock cable, doesn't look like it bends, and is too thick to actually go in someone's wallet.

They've replaced the 6" of 5mm thick flexible cable you need with a rigid card that's loads bigger :/

Did you watch the video? The port is flexible :p I think it would be better if the entire card was a little flexible instead of a rigid card.

It's got about 2 inches of flex and then a huge great big plastic square on it!

You can get dock cables with only a few inches of cable - this ChargeCard is a bad answer to a question that nobody actually answered, which seems to be what the majority of products on Kickstarter are.

It is actually pretty cool :)
I don't have room for a cable (even the short ones) in my pocket because it just gets tangled up with everything.

I very much doubt that somebody struggling to fit a cable in their bag will suddenly have space for a card that is only slightly smaller. A wallet, that's a different matter.

But then again, if you're charging your phone so regularly via USB ports on computers that aren't yours, you either spend most of your time at libraries or you should really have an external battery pack to do the job.

Short cable is far more suitable, IMO.

I think the point is that this is useful for those occasions where you forgot to bring the cable, but likely have your wallet on you with this inside...

With all that 'empty' space I would have thought they could include some sort of battery in there that could hold charge and be used to charge the phone up a bit when can't get to a USB port.
