Stefan Savić to WOlves on a season long loan, apparently. I have to admit to not knowing much about him, other than talk of some shocking performances last season!

Anyone give any insight into him? Presumably he'd be good for a championship club (and better than Berra?!)

He looked woefully out of his depth to me, I saw nothing that would make me think he's good enough to play in the Championship.

As for Corzola saw some figure of £20m being floated about which seems a bit excessive to me, should be sub-£15m surely?

Seems a bit weird that Villa have sold Collins bearing in mind they already let Cuellar go and Dunne is missing the first month or so of the season?!

Does Lambert have some sort of masterplan for their central defence?

Sky Sports Italia are reporting that Inter have had a bid accepted for Lucas Moura, and the player has agreed a contract.

However, nowhere else has reported this at present. They also say the bid is apparently 32 million euros, plus add-ons.

I guess we'll find out more later if this is true. There are also reports that his parents want him to join Manchester United (from journalists based in Brazil).

Santa Claus 15m euros and considering the euro is worth as much a sock with a hole in it, Arsenal signed him for pretty much free

Not that I would trust the Italian media I kinda hope that's true, everything I've been reading suggests he has nowhere near the ability to match his price tag.

OK, starting to get a little excited at the extreme outside shot that is Santi and Sahin coming in and Walcott and Song being sold, both strengthening our side while weakening another top side is as good as it gets, especially getting rid of our worst players.

However Song to Barca, is that even slightly believable, will he start ahead of Biscuits, world/euro cup winner, first team, multiple title winning player? Ahead of Cesc who cost £40mil, Xavi/Iniesta, club/country favourites who the fans love and are on a huge wage. So what exactly would they buy Song for, because he's played as a CB on occassion, where he's even worse than in midfield?

I love the idea of Podolski/Wilshire/Sahin/Arteta/santi midfield, who wouldn't. I get the feeling the closer to the truth reality will be(at least for a good while till Wilshire is back), Podolski/Song/Arteta/Santi/Walcott, or if we really do get rid of Walcott, Santi out wide and Diaby/Rosicky in the middle, neither midfield looks anywhere near as good.

Still Arsenal's biggest weakness was a 49 goal leaking defence, we've consistently been above 40 goals while the top 2(sometimes 3) is always sub 40 goals and occasionally sub 30 goals. We really need fullbacks that are even slightly competant, with Verm fit at the start of the year and Kos hopefully will continue his form from last year asap when he's back that gives us a far stronger start in CB compared to last year but fullbacks is as useless as ever.

Sao Paulo vice-president Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes has denied reports that they have agreed any deal with Inter Milan over the transfer of starlet Lucas Moura.

Reports in Italy on Thursday stated that a deal has been struck between the two clubs, with just Lucas left to agree personal terms with the Italian giants.

However, the Brazilian outfit have now dismissed these reports, with Paulo de Jesus Lopes claiming that they have held official talks only with Manchester United.

"I'm not aware of this information," he told Lancenet. "I was with (Sao Paulo president) Juvenal Juvenicio yesterday (Wednesday) and today (Thursday).

"We sat only to negotiate with Manchester United, but their offer was not good enough."

Lucas, 19, is one of the best young players in world football and is currently in action for Brazil at the Olympics.

He has previously said he will make a decision on his future after the Olympics after Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed United's interest last month.

Just for Robbo :p

Really? I think it's more a case of bags of ability plus potential to meet his price tag, more so than nowhere near the ability... he's obviously got the ability. We aren't going to pay £30m~ for someone who looks like Walcott version 2 - that was a daft analogy made up by someone. :p

The issue is, for £30m, who else could we get? Preferably in midfield. Moutinho would cost almost that much and he seems to divide opinion. Modric is £35m+.

Who do you think we should look at? 2 cheaper players perhaps? Go for Neymar with a £50m bid? Focus all efforts on RvP if Arsenal will agree?

I expect it to go through today then. :D :o

I'd love RVP and Dembele as has been the case all along, who knows what's happening with the former and who knows if there's even interest in the latter. Cant believe we haven't sniffed about Sahin while Arsenal are getting him for nowt for a season, I know we dont generally give game time to other clubs players but I reckon he'll be a seriously good addition to the Arsenal :(

I said it before, Chelsea simply used us to get Benny back to form/fitness after a bad injury. Sahin is incredibly highly rated, he had a great season before going Real, and a team like Real doesn't have space to give someone 10 games to get back to preinjury form. Arsenal are being used(if we infact get him), its NOT in the interest of a team to potentially build an offence around a player for a season just to see him leave. A loan can help for a big team, more to cover an injury than to be the difference between winning/losing a league.

What do Utd do if they get Sahin, the team gets to the stage its 100% dependant on him not to dissimilar to Scholes for all their attacking play, then he goes back to Real to be first team? you're MUCH better off bringing in a long term player to build a team off. Not only will you be in the same situation 12 months from now, that assumes he's actually any good. Re-injury risk after big injuries is big, form isn't certain(otherwise Real wouldn't loan him). The fact is, if he's any good Real will keep him, if he's not Real will look to offload him next year and you won't want him after a poor year. The upside is all Real's.

Moura is daft money, the chance of getting him in on a huge wage and him being worth much more than £30mil in 5 years are miniscule, chances of him being worth nothing like 30mil are huge.

Utd would do much better with RVP, and buying him asap so he can train with them as long as possible before the season starts.

I don't get the fannying around to be honest. Maybe negotiate down 2-3mil in transfer fee.... the cost of a player missing preseason and not having preseason to find a home, settle a little, become friends before the pressure of the season kicks in is worth significantly more than a few million. I would also say the price normally increases due to desparation of the team buying than the price decreases due to the desparation of the team selling. If the club selling has money and no debt, the price rarely comes down, if the club buying has money, the price rarely comes down.

Arsenal screwed around all last transfer window and cost us HUGE in the first month of games, huge. Only Arteta ended up a remotely decent buy and even with him he looked FAR better after a 4-6 weeks than he did when he joined. If we got him 2 months earlier and he had a great preseason, worth more than saving a couple mil every time.
