Like how I replied to his comments about how he plays the lottery, avoiding the disappointment of drawing last weeks numbers but just not remembering them, you mean? Which, by the way, was an acknowledgement that it is a valid reason to play the same numbers repeatedly.
You've not comprehended my original post on this subject correctly then.
Me explaining why some people bet the same numbers every week and how I play when I do are two separate paragraphs, they are not connected in the way you imply.
Furthermore, explaining why something happens is not in any way validating it as a rational thought process. If I explain how a tyre bursts when a needle goes through it doesn't mean I'm advocating the puncturing of tyres.
Never mind the fact that it makes no difference whether you play the same numbers of not.. it's a lottery. So to criticise other's choice of numbers is pointless.
But again, explaining why some people do stuff isn't criticising. A specific question was asked about whether you had more chance of winning or not by picking the same numbers every week versus doing a Lucky Dip. I answered this and explained why there was no difference statistically (one topic), why I thought some people did (including the fear of of old numbers coming up - another topic) and then mentioned if I play what I do (a separate topic not connected to the last).
I wasn't judging anyone, was stating statistical truisms. Picking the same numbers every week isn't statistically irrational, but picking the same numbers every week for a reason other than 'might as well the odds are the same' is irrational; not a criticism, but a statement of fact.
