as the title, im thinking about going from a X-Fi XtremeGamer PCI to a Recon3D PCIe, is worth it, as in sound quality, gaming, music, ect?

AV amp or all-in one solution? If the former then you might notice an improvement if the latter then you probably wont.

If I remember correctly the recond 3d got pretty bad reviews. Sound quality was not up to scratch for the price, it had a lower SNR than the previous x-fi cards and the only thing it was really good at was positional audio. I'm fairly certain a xonar DX would be a better buy for the price.
