Batman themed Home Cinema

Very nice, tho someone with a bit of artistic talent + technical knowledge could probably build something very close to that quality for more in the region of 1-2% of that cost (a lot of that the budget for a decent sound system and projector).

Amazing. I'm not sure it would add $2M onto the value of the average house though.

This Star Trek one was apparently done for $16000 plus a lot of time: http://www.reighn.com/theatermain.html

Looks good but a bit random for when you're watching something like 500 days of summer or anything else non batman.

or has he got a similar room for every film :p

Ha ha ha .... you think someone can do something like that, to that standard of bespoke design, including all the hardware; the bespoke design, the lighting, the fittings, the seating and the electrical work for $10,000 - $20,000 do you?

By estimating the cost obviously.
Do any of you guys actually watch TV? These programmes about the guys in America that build custom bikes and cars? $1-$2 mill for a bespoke cinema may seem excessive, but if this is a build-from-scratch or major remodelling job including substantial building works then $1,000,000 isn't an unrealistic number for something at the top end of the luxury home cinema market. A lot of you guys mess about with high-end graphics cards, NAS drives, or ultra-high performance PCs that the average Joe wouldn't understand. This is the same but on a much much bigger scale, that's all.

Yes its been done. Its a lot of work, effort/motivation and needs a lot of expertise but there are individuals who have done it on those kinda budgets and yes high end bespoke installations often come in the region of 1M USD but its perfectly possible to do it for a lot less if you know a bit about what your doing rather than hiring a design company.

I know a bit about high end luxury home cinema setups so you don't have to be condescending and theres a fair few people who've posted their own build logs when setting them up on these forums. My own setup is nothing special, off the shelf kef speaker setup, Optoma HD70, blacked out spare room, etc. but I'm not completely lacking in knowledge about what I'm talking about.

EDIT: Tho if they did do that entire setup including a reaslistic model of a tumbler then it would be a bit more costly and time consuming to an individual than I was projecting - when I glanced at the images I assumed that was just a static mural behind the bookcases.

Well if you know about high end home cinema then you wouldn't have made such a ridiculous proposal that it could be done for $10-$20K - Even DIY by someone in the trade. BTW, I am a "someone in the trade" too. So, how much do you think the seating alone would cost?

Did you even look at the link someone posted above? - theres others as well where people have done some great setups without breaking the bank relatively speaking.

Seating would depend a lot on what you went for, you can easily blow 2 grand per seat buying into professional high end gear and paying over the top price, a decent high end chaise can top 3-4 grand but you don't have to pay that much and can still get a decent setup.
