Im thinking of getting these games from AC2 upwards. I can get all 3 current games on disc for the price of AC2 on steam. Is there any benefits to buying it on steam as opposed to disc. Does the DRM on disc mean you dont have to have the disc in the drive to play it?

Just the usual benefits of having games on Steam. Get the retail copy unless you are prepared to wait for another Steam sale.
Yeah, same with the hitman collecton (all 4) would I be able to play without the disks?
