hi cant seem to find many comparable benches for gaming so does anyone know if I buy the 7950 what sort of extra performance I would see in games? for example in dirt showdown benchmark which I think is pretty intensive I get 82avg fps and minimum 60 on generic high settings. on ultra its unplayable dropping to below 20. so using that example or any other game or an ocuk members personal experience with either card is it a solid and genuine upgrade or should I look at another option for gpu

No problem.

£30 cheaper if you don't need the FLEX edition to run 3 DVI monitors out of the box (or want to have that option for the future):

Gigabyte ATi Radeon HD 7950 Windforce 3X 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £269.99

An extra year warranty on the Gigabyte as well.

that looks a good option do but I did quite like the option of trying eyefinity on three dvi monitors rather than having to get a display port model. also hope don't have to change psu as have power hungry system and the 7950 uses 40w more than mine at load. only just purchased my psu.

Or this if you want something cheaper.

Doubt the 660 is going to handle 3 monitors like the 7950 will though.

will have to wait for proper benches regards that card but its not an option for me. I definitely don't want that one. would get the higher NVidia cards if was to go NVidia route again. as my whole system is amd I really want to try an amd gpu. have never owned anything but NVidia. every system in house is currently nvidia

thanks to everyone whom helped with advice. I bought a gigabyte hd7870 today and have another on hold for xfire next week. got a very good deal I think at the price so am happy with it.
