Hmm they've changed that recently, Im pretty sure there was another option, 60mbit and 6mbit upload. Seems to have gone.

Downstream: 110000000 bps
Upstream: 10250000 bps

I'm guessing that's all correct?

Yep your on 10 upload so in your speedtest your upload speed is also a bit slow but as has been said above dont worry about speedtest.net.

Really its pretty hard to test that kind of speed the best way is to try multiple files sometimes from different locations. And for the upload you should be able to upload a video to youtube at full speed.

The 60/6 package does not really exist yet. Thats why its not on that chart.

Just had Virgin installed this afternoon (100Mb XXL). The download looks too low and the upload too high. Is this normal? Done the test around 8.50pm.

I'm not sure local utilisation has anything to do with it or if the installer got a bit confused when patching the connection :p

Try the london namesco server also :)

Pay2Leech, hit and run or seedbox?

None of the above... all traffic generated on my home Virgin connection for that screenshot. It's all scheduled for nighttime too, so as not to have a noticeably negative effect on other users.

I used to run a seedbox "business" though, so am a member of some of the best trackers around & know how to seed ;)

I'm still in the top10 list of one tracker... lol... oops... with triple figure terabytes uploaded (from seedbox days).

Double figure terabyte uploads on a few others...

Dont think they are slowed down but something has been going on over the past few weeks which dont apply to their FUP.

I provided a link, read it if you don't believe me, it's all there in black and white.

Yep, April 2012, it says at the top

At this time it wouldn't be congestion, those speeds are fairly close to what I would expect for being stm'd but some are also a little higher if there are no problems at your end that is a very odd problem indeed.

How are your power levels?

I've been looking around and my power levels did seem a bit odd compared to everyone else. On my way to work at the moment so can't post full stats, but I seem to remember my downstream power levels being around 12-13dBmv and my SNR around 40. That was for each of the 4 downstream channels the rest of the channels were 'unknown' (bit vague I know as I'm new to cable lol).

12-13 is high tbh. it needs to be as close as 0.0 as posable.

u should contact VM to get a engineer out

whats your upstream voltage?

That does sound quite high ideally you will be wanting -3 to + 7 dBmv and for snr anything at 35 or above is good. So the engineer has probably not bothered to check the power levels when he did the install.

To get it fixed you are going to have to get an engineer out to sort out your power levels.

The unknown channels are just empty slots, that is probably the best way I can put it the sh can bond 8 channels down and 4 channels up but the area needs to be set for that/have the channels available for example my area is 5 down and 1 up.

Ah I see, you reckon this would be causing the low downstream then? Also, is it an easy fix?
