It doesn't make it invalid but its just a bit "rich".

I have already explained numerous times why Dzeko hasn't been this flop a lot like to think he is.

Well if you go by previous transfers, for players of the same nationality and position it is right.

Johnson has achieved more than let's say Downing. Hardly played last season and in a team built around different players he scored some important goals and got a good amount of assists. Downing did nothing!

As I said last night, I'm Agger's biggest fan but a big fee for a player that's played less than half the games over the last 6 years has to be tempting.

Meh, I'd take £22m for Agger and run. Great defender, but we can get a solid replacement for half that if we hunt around a bit, and need to strengthen other areas more. Plus I imagine that if we turn City down he's going to spend half of next season getting friendly with the physic, and making it look like an idiotic decision.

Agreed on both. He is a great player when fit, but I'm genuinely surprised City have come in for him. If we can get £20m+, then its an absolute no brainer given his injury record which shows no real sign of getting better.

EDIT: Has played 46% of all games since he joined in 2006 apparently.

Chelsea allegedly sign Wallace Dos Santos according to some S. American football expert reported via Sky Italia. Wallace is an 18yr old right back/wing back, and rumour has weight because the club already had a 40% stake in the player.

The Azpilicueta and Moses rumours persist, but could it be that Ivanovic, Wallace and Sam Hutchinson will have the right back position covered now?

No, it doesn't, it shouldn't matter what team I support.

I didnt call Dzeko a flop, okay just overpaid a fair bit for his performances.

Downing based on last year is worth, errr, yeah can't compare Johnson to him, Johnson done nothing to suggest he's worth that gamble, particularly for a club that has been prone to wasting money recently

Time to move on I think. The willingness to spend that kind of money is pleasing, just not the target on this occasion.

If you look at some of the stuff Moura does in the Youtube videos, it is quite exceptional. But that just leads me wonder how awful the rest of his game must be if he's still being described as very raw/nowhere near the finished article.

Way too big of a risk for me, especially when what we need is someone with the ability to control the game in the middle, not someone to drift in and out of games out wide.

Nothing to suggest we will do that though!

Rumours seem to have dried up completely unless it's about RVP and Moura, neither of which are looking likely.

The RVP saga seems a tad odd now. Seems the big 3 that were named have given up.

He wants to leave - therefore let him and make a few quid (not going to get a huge amount with a year left on the contract).

I can't see him giving his all for the Gunners this season somehow...

So why don't City buy this mythical solid replacement for half the money instead of injury prone Daniel Agger?? I'll tell you why, there isn't one.

Bad move on behalf of the club if they even consider any offers, regardless of price, why give BR any more headaches? He has enough on his plate sorting the other areas of the team let alone the only decent part that needs sod all tinkering. It's not just about getting a replacement in, it's the building of a partnership that will take time.

I still have my doubts that he would move anyway, he strikes me a guy that is true to his word.

The RVP situation is indeed very odd.

If we believe the press/club statements, the only club really left in the running are Manchester United, and his only other option is to stay at Arsenal.

Mancini seems to want him, but he has plenty of strikers and the board aren't keen on buying another, and Juventus have ruled themselves out as his demands are too great.

If the above is true, that just leaves us... will Arsenal sell if we offer £20m~? Maybe, maybe not.

I haven't seen anything to suggest that we are out of the running just yet. We have become very good at masking our transfer news so until the window is closed anything can happen.

Mancini saying he doesn't think he'll join Man City would suggest you are out of the running, would it not?

Remember, 'suggest' doesn't mean 'are'. There's also the fact that everyone seems to think he wants to join Manchester United as well.

Obviously he could be lying, heh, he probably is, but we can only go on what we're told.

Well the De Rossi is likely made up but I am clinging on to it :p

And never take what Mancini says as the truth. He is the master of mind games. Remember "it is over" "it is finished"?
He isn't going to come out and say we have made a bid and now we aren't going to brother any more.

I don't think we will sign him but I don't think Mancini will give up on it.

I don't think there's much chance of Wenger selling van Persie to us at all, he'll either stay or go abroad I would think. Regarding Moura, his fee is far too high, we could get Lewandowski and Dembele for around that and we'd be far better off for it.
