Hi folks. I was wondering if anyone has this sound card and if so what are your thoughts on it? Also are the issues with and the likes of Battlefield 3 been fixed yet? I am thinking about getting one for my 21st next week and using it with a set of Corsair SP2500s. Any thought or recommendations? I'm new to the whole sound card thing as I have always used on board sound in the past.

With asus and creative, generally all the cards sound the same, as they have the same hardware except for the essence and the titanium hd. So the ROG card is essentially massively overpriced for the sound quality. You'd be better off with one of the audiophile grade cards and some really good headphones.
 
Ive had the ROG for 2days using 360 Sennheiser's headphones, upgrading from Asus D2X Xonar and ive been very impressed so far,a lot better quality sound,I installed the beta drivers which they say works with BF3 but yesterday whilst playing BF3 pc went screwy and had colour lines all over monitor and sound stuck in a loop,rebooted and BF3 was all good after so Still testing with BF3.

So whats the Essence and HD got that the ROG dosnt?
I bought the card when it was on special for £149.99 so good deal I thought.
 
I seem to remember reading somewhere that the ROG was actually pretty decent sounding - perhaps on par with the STX and HD? Maybe I imagined it :|
 
yeah the reviews said its similar to the STX but slightly better... but id assume u would need the ears of a dog to make that difference !

wish they compared in an intet much difference !
 
Looking for a good quallity set of 2.1s to go with this. Any recommendations. As said in my opening post, I was looking at the Corsair SP2500s.
 
lol those 300 quid speakers look the bomb though

I wish they made the asus card for actual people that could afford it though lol
