Hi there,

This coming Monday, we are picking up a 59 plate Ford C-Max, and it has the usual standard equipment.

We want to take out the normal stereo and replace it with a double din. I have seen a couple we like from Apline and JVC, we are leaning towards the JVC as it has DAB built in.

Does anyone have any experience taking out the old stereo and fitting the new one in. Do I need to purchase any extra bits, or is it a standard plug and play?

You'll need a fascia adapter and more than likely a Ford > ISO wiring harness too. Typically head units can also make use of remote stalks (for controlling radio) but may need an additional bit of wiring.

Edit: Just saw you want a Double DIN unit. Scratch the fascia adapter.

You will still need a fascia adaptor, Fords never make life easy (about £10)

The ISO harness and the keys are about £25
If you want the whole lot with stalk controls then about £60

Dynamicsounds were the first random hit on google
