DSG gear box - crunching noise after approaching junction

Keep laughing because unless you waltz in with a phaeton or a touraeg and an expensive suit, they don't care.

Only place that has ever given me a courtesy car that I had to insure was at a bodyshop.

Every main dealer I have ever had a loaner from has always covered me. Not providing insurance for a courtesy car is frankly **** service.

Yep, but that doesn't change the fact that VW do it anyway. They've got signs all over their service desks explaining about loan car insurance. If you kick up a stink or you've had a bad time of it, they'd probably waive it.

The OP has posted that they do offer free insurance with a 1k excess or zero excess for £10.

Yes the op has posted that. As appealing as £1k excess sounds, you'd have to be quite stupid to go for that.

Really? I'd imagine the risk of you totalling a courtesy Polo is sufficiently low for it to be worth the gamble. I'm pretty sure none of the loaners I've had from BMW have ever had an excess lower than about £750.

I waive everything when I take cars on the road that aren't mine, if only because I'm paranoid about scratches I didn't spot being pinned on me. Maybe I'm the exception but 1k excess terrifies me, even if it is just one day.

Your choice I guess, whats your own excess?
