Need advice of gaming rig ordering next week hopefully

I wouldn't bother with the extra 2gb on the 680, it's only useful if you're doing things like triple monitor setups or doing some serious modding on things like skyrim, so save yourself the cash and get a 2gb 680, or if you really want 4gb you could look at a 4gb 670 as it will only be a few fps off the 680.

For that money I would look at a modular PSU, as the corsair you specced isn't modular...

The Raven already has fan speed controller for it's 3x180 fans, the older Ravens were more noisy but the updated version (the one you've got) has got better fans and you can't hear them when it's on low... and I challenge you to find a case that's as quiet with the same cooling prowess, it's also one of the best air cooled cases out there in terms of cooling potential.

Wouldn't it help future proof it though getting the 4gig?

I'll upgrade the PSU.

Can't see anything mentioning fan controller on the raven, it actually on the case itself?

Why did you want two HDD's?

Well my steam takes up >1TB + other stuff (music, videos.)
And then another one just to record raw footage too. Think it is a bit overkill?

Also low profile ram just mean it is smaller so takes up less room :p?

Also any opinion on the case, that choosing gpu+monitor are things I'm really struggling with

The low-profile RAM is to actually fit underneath the heatsinks fans that will overhang the RAM slots.

The case is fine, its your choice after all:) its certainly not rubbish.

I can not say anything about that ASUS monitor (never seen or used one) but boy it looks like its the shiznit (thats a good thing).

Ah okay, so neccessary then :D, worth going 2x8gb though ?

In terms of noise levels would you happen to know one that is very quiet :p (Also should I buy different fans and ask OcUk to fit them if that makes a difference?).

Read varying reports on monitor, sucking a bit for 2D gaming due to colour blending*(think thats the right word) issues, for example fading from red to black image produces lines. And also backlight bleeding.
I'd take the risk if it was around £150, but its like triple that unfortunately.

Any opinion on what GPU route i should go? Single 670 or 680 2gb or 4?

for the amount of money you're spending, why not get a sli gtx670?
and do you really need a 3770k? ht is not much help for games

If you want a damn good monitor then you can always go the Dell IPS route.

The case is suppose to be quiet and offer excellent cooling due to the 180mm air penetrator fans.

I would try a normal 2GB first, add a second later?

Yeah I hopefully intend to stream and see if I get much enjoyment out of it, need my upload speed to be better though, stuck around 3mb/s qq.

And ideally I'm trying not to spend over 2.4k all included. And I don't want to cheap out in other areas when really a single card is likely to suffice for probably 2 years?

eh wut? streaming takes little cpu time
and if you're looking at "futureproofing" by getting a 4gb card, i'd say a sli 670 is more futureproofing than a single gtx680 4gb

Stulid problem I have with the Dell would be ghosting and the 6ms.

Also yeah theres the buy a 2gb card now save £100, and SLi it later, or end up SLing to 2x4gb GPUs later :D.

Case I guess I'll stick with, the Cosmos 2 is probably over kill.

Doesn't streaming do rendering+if recording aswell rapes the CPU???
And if I'm trying to futureproof, the option to upgrade to SLi gtx680 is also an option, with spend less now.

Alright I think I'm finally settled, it is either the Asus or BenQ 24" due to being mountable at some point.

I hope that OcUK heat sync for CPU is good, the ones you guys recommended are now out of stock, and hope it doesn't have much overhang so ram is fine but I guess they will call me while building if there is an issue.

Finally the case issue, I can't get a solid say on anyone it seems on exactly how quiet other cases are, I've seen TotalBiscuit on reddit say how this is so quiet and great for his recording with sensative microphone not picking up any humming, so I think I'll just take the hit and go for it and give my ears a rest.

Just to say the Gainward coolers aren't that great from what I've heard, apparently they can be rather noisy and don't cool as well as some others, spending extra for the 4gb is your decision if you want it...

That ASUS is meant to be very good, as is the BenQ 24"

If I was spending that much on a case I'd get the FT02 as I can't hear it when the fans are on low and can just just hear it when they're turned up, comes with fam controller and is in my opinion the best air cooled case out there but cases are a very personal thing...

Again, up to you if you want the i7 over the i5, you know whether you do enough rendering etc to make it worth it (or you just want it for the e-peen :D)

Heatsink wise look at this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-020-AL outstanding CPU cooler

Is that heatsink okay for non low profile ram?

Also cheers for the tip of the 680, next one is £20 up, might just nab it. And that Silverstone case is actually very very nice, very subtle.

I read a review of a 4GB GTX680 against a 2GB. There was no noticeable difference in games or benchmarks- in some cases the 4GB performed worse than the 2GB.

Worth checking out teamliquid's site before buying - they have in depth guides for people wanting to stream from the ground up.
Why do you want win7 ultimate retail?
Case is OTT. That's your call though. Are you aware of how large it is?
