Well I've been looking at getting a tattoo or two for a long time now but never really been sure on what to get. I've decided on getting something Thor related as my real name is Thor and think it would be pretty cool, maybe getting a mjolnir or something but not sure.

Basically I'm after some good Thor related designed that I could use for a tattoo. No clue where to get it yet I guess that will come after I have the design. I've had a quick google but nothing has really taken my fancy.

In terms of skin shrinking and stretching what are tattoos like? With weight training my skin in certain parts of my body shrinks ( losing body fat ) and other parts are obviously getting bigger, will this distort the tattoos?

Thanks

I think if you're not sure on what to get for a tattoo, then a tattoo isn't for you.

Get a nice picture and put it on your wall instead or something.

Epic first name. Are your parents Scandinavian, or is your dad a comic book nerd? :D

Or your parents just liked the name? Also, kudos on not getting a tribal tattoo. The world has more than enough of those.

I think I worded it wrong, there is lots I'd love as a tattoo but I want meaningful things. Some people have their name in some random language and I guess my version of that is going to be something Thor related but just can't find anything that takes my fancy to do with it.

My dad has always been in to the Norse mythology. He was a body guard for a famous rock band and spent a lot of time in that country and decided to call me either Thor or Zeus. When I was born there was a thunder storm so he went with Thor.

cool name. some of the tats in that link above are pretty cool. i wish i had the balls to call my son something really cool. not sure Alexander is that 'out there' but then again he wont meet anyone out side our family with our surname.

Q: With a real name of Thor, why go by your username on the forum?

Thor is a really cool name. It's amazing how many friends I have with sons called Maximus after Gladiator was a success.

You better have a bitchin' beard to show respect to your namesake.

My nickname when I started work was Hagar the horrible after the cartoon of the time. Needless to say the long golden locks have gone, now short and mixed with grey and the beard is a lot more restrained.

But something hammer related would be good. Just remember you will live and die with it.

Thor was taken sadly :(

I can't grow facial hair even at the age of 27 :( I am 6 foot 3 and 20 odd stone though!

Alexander is a freaking awesome name. ;)

haha... we picked it because in the delivery room something was on the wall that was called 'ALEXA' but was obstructed from sight. it wasnt even on our list!

he can choose himself all kinds of names Alex, Al (big gay Al is he turns out that way :)), Xander, Xan, Lex or even Axel like i started calling him after seeing my Beverley hills cop trilogy on the shelf :)
