Anyone had experience with the WD TV live Streaming Media Player

I would like to buy 1 of these to upgrade the tv to internet tv and also to play all my media on my shared drive on my main pc wirelessly, but are these any good and if not, what would you recommend?

Ive had one a while now and find it fantastic, it plays pretty much every thing I throw at it.

I have a shaired drive on my computer and also a NAS drive and have no probllems with either through the WDTV.

The only thing I cant comment on it wifi and I have a wired network but everyones wifi is so different I supose their experiences may differ to yours anyway.

Theyre great. Very small, and if you cant wire it then all you need is a thumb drive, i find it pauses a bit wireless

Is it unwatchable wireless? Ive got a N wireless access point and I would say the WD will be about 6-7 meters away from the access point.

Depends on the source, SD rips played fine over wireless for me but as soon as I started playing more HD content it just didn't seem as smooth.

Fixed this by adding some homeplugs.

Other than that its a cracking little player.

Ive got a dual band asus router, but through one main wall and over 5 metres distance, it paused about once every 15/20 mins. Enough to annoy.
Homeplugs are only as good as your wiring, I just use a thumbdrive at the moment.

I have one and it is indeed a very nice little streamer , tho i dont use wireless on it at all. My main gripe is no DTS HD but i believe i would have to spend more than double to get that from a media player.
