I bought this case for my new build so thought I'd share a few opinions and notes.

Features

  • Support HPTX super big M/B and 10 PCI slots for four graphic cards.
  • Hot-swappable 2.5/3.5” SATA HDD docking on top panel.
  • Two USB3.0 super-speed ports on top panel with dust-proof cover.
  • Both side screw-less ODD holders.
  • Dual PSU possible on the top and bottom.
  • 360/420mm water cooling radiator possible.
  • Fully external twelve 5.25” bays with two “4 in 3 HDD cage”.
  • 3.5” HDD anti-vibration rubbers inside of 4 in 3 cages.
  • Anti-vibration rubbers and bottom dust filter for PSU.
  • Aluminum on the front mesh panel with removable dust filters.

After reading some great reviews for this monster of a case I thought it would be ideal to host my new Watercooled Ivy Bridge system and to make a nice change. Although very workable and spacious it's certainly not without it's faults.

Positive

+ Large case will host most single and dual loop water cooling system.

+ Plenty of fans

+ Spacious and Easy to work with

+ Plenty of motherboard tray holes for cable routing

+ Generous space behind motherboard tray to hide cabling, including ATX cables.

+ Doesn't look too bad but that's down to taste

Negatives

- Looks and feels cheap

- Power button but is a bit feeble - can't see that lasting

- Door fittings resemble that of a budget sub £35 case not something I'd expect from a £130 + case.

- Not sure why you would need a HDD snap port on top.. Could have invested the manufacturing costs on decent doors.

- If not using wheels, the feet leave a residue when moved.

sounds like one of the lugs is bent, i have had mine over a year now and the doors have been no problem. The castors that come with it are #### i am on my 4th set lol

The reason it seems 'like an over priced budget case but 3 times as big' is because really it is...

The thing is, you're paying for that size.

No other case has that capacity for stuff at such a low price point...

You're basically paying for the size above anything else.

Mind you, your issue definitely sounds like a manufacturing default rather than anything else :S

Cases that come close I guess....

NZXT Switch 810 - I'm pretty sure this isn't actually bad quality, but it looks glossy and cheap to me (never had hands on so can't say for sure). Plus, like Xigmatek, their history isn't one of building high quality cases....

Bitfenix Shinobi XL - arguably slightly better quality than the Xigmatek, but again, nowhere near the capacity for stuff... This literally is a budget case (Bitfenix Shinobi) upsized...

Coolermaster HAF X is probably actually the best massive case out there in a similar price bracket, and it seems to have come down massively in the past few months... Used to be £160 ish.. Just a shame it looks so hideous, as it can probably host similar things to the Elysium...

If you want a case that oozes quality, I guess the options are anything made by Lian Li or Silverstone, and I guess for pure capacity basis I should give an honourable mention to the Cosmos SII.... You pay for these though... Massive cases by these guys are in the £300+ bracket...

Don't know if you've already bought this or the such like, but what are reqs? Could we find you a better case?

I have the same opinion of the Shinobi XL. It's a fantastic case but has some flaws that would so easily have been rectified. Like the fact that you can only fit a thin rad in the roof, or the rubbish air flow with the front panel fitted.

Yeah I've already bought it mate. I'm just finishing of the cable tidying at the rear following a 24hour wc loop test. I love the free space and the cable tidying is immaculate but struggle with the door. I'll check it out this weekend as I promised the wife a night away from it.

Will post some pics up when I'm finished :)

Another thought, i was wondering how owners rated the stock/supplied fans?

I've had one of these cases for quite a while now with various revisions to my loop and not had any isuues with the sides.
As above, check the lugs and fittings to see if any are bent.
On the note of the supplied fans, I've got the 2 120s on a 240 rad in the front and is pretty much silent at full whack. Same witht he huge one on the side panel. The 140 on the rear however can be fairly audible unless connected to a fan controller.
