Interested in buying a few XL2420t's for an upcoming nvidia surround build, only thing that puts me off them is that the bezels seem pretty big. There's plenty of guides around for debezeling monitors, but I can't find any mention of anyone removing the bezel from these.

Has anyone been brave enough to remove the bezel from their XL2420t, or seen somebody who has?

The bezels are not big

You can even tuck the side monitors behind the primary center monitor to hide their bezels... so you effectively have only the 1 bezel between each monitor.

I'd still like to de-bezel, but these bezels most certainly are not big - perhaps you haven't been using computers for very long?

Love it - just aching to get back up to 120Hz!

With only a single GTX670 - don't expect any more than ~40-45FPS on low settings with no antialiasing :p

I get 80-90FPS

Yeah okay, they're not big.
It's just that any bezel at all will be doubled between the monitors, and I want to get the screens as close to each other as I could.

Well yes, of course you can, I'm just curious to see if anyone has had any luck removing the bezels. That's why I asked.

what's that got to do with anything? I was only asking if anyone had tried to remove the bezels. Sorry if you thought it was a silly question.

I'd be interested too... I'd like to get rid of mine... they're not as intrusive as other bezels i've had in the past, but they're most certainly noticeable - edge-to-edge monitors would be awesome!

Sorry, it was a reference to you calling the bezels large... compared to TFTs of the past ~10 years, they're actually quite thin... that's why I assumed one possibility was you hadn't been in "the game" very long :)

Not meaning offense, just a curiosity. I have a "good" habit of phrasing things in ways that offend without intending to :D

I agree the bezels on the 20T are not big, I'm considering buying 2 more of these. Whats it like for surround in bf3 crinkle? (When non haxing :p )

Very good if you let the periphery screens settle into the corner of your eye.

If you place centre screen in front of two periphery screens then bezel isn't too bad.

It's not the thinnest in the world though.

Just out of interest what case do you have to house the 690

Not meaning offense...
Ah, sorry - maybe I did take offense a bit easily. Apologies, and no hard feelings.

You mentioned that you "couldn't wait to get back to 120Hz", I was hoping to get 120hz accross three screens with the gtx690, I take it that's not going to happen?
Do you have any idea what kind of a setup it would take to run surround at 120hz?

You can run at 120 Hz easily enough. All you really need is a DVI-D cable with the monitor into a supported graphics card. So for a 690 you'd have two connected via DVI-D and the third by Displayport (about £3 for the cable)

But what he means (I think) is running at 120 FPS or near to it to be at the maximum smoothness. To be fair, 60 FPS on a 120 Hz screen is smoother than 60 FPS on a 60 Hz screen.

680 SLI which is fair amount (not massive) faster than a 690 when overclocked to 1280 like I am currently am cannot run MSAA at more than 2x to get decent FPS across 3 screens.

You'll need at least 3x GTX680 to manage 120fps across all three screens on low settings.

4x GTX680 or 2x GTX690 for anything more than low...
