Hello.

I have been researching and marrying up components for a new Gaming PC.
This will be my first build and I will most likely overclock it, to get the best performance.

my budget is about £700-£800, so let me know if anything could be improved or if anything is not worth the money.

I look forward to the feedback!

thank you for the feedback.

RJC, im trying to stick to Nvidia as I do prefer their GFX Cards.

PLus why would you recommend Gigabyte Z77-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard over a Asus Maximus V GENE intel Z77 ?

thanks again.

There's been talks of firmware updates on that SSD. Look around for more up to date reviews. Or you can just play it safe with a M4 / Samsung 830.

The Gene is a more up-market motherboard. It's also micro-atx, meaning smaller board, less expansion slots.

If you don't need a micro-atx board (unless you want to build a very small rig), get a full atx board, like the Z77X-UD3H, Z77X-U4P (with thunderbolt ports).

The Z77-D3H is a good entry level board. No SLI / crossfire, but the rest is good enough, even for some decent overclocks.

If you want to stick witn NVidia, wait for their mid-level 6xx cards (660ti). You can buy the rest in the meanwhile, I suppose.

In what sense? Both are good brands, the Gigabyte Z77 are very good across the range. For Asus, they make arguably the best motherboard (Rampage Extreme), but I'm not impressed by their lower range (P8Z77). The Maximum Gene is good, but again, it's micro atx. It's just that I wouldn't pick that one up myself unless I was making a LAN rig or some small gaming rig.

If you go Z77-D3H, you can budget for a GTX 670, which is best bang for bucks atm.

If you want to go with the brand, then the Gene-Z would be a good choice, if you are not bothered by the size and reduced number of PCIE ports.

I dont really need many PCIE ports, only 2 for the GFX card, i dont plan adding anything else.

Plus the GeForce 670 look around £299.99 =[

on GIGABYTE webiste for GIGABYTE GA-Z77-D3H Intel Z77 doesnt give a list of what RAM is acceptable. Only 4 x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets.

priorities. You're spending £80 on a CPU cooler and a £150 on a motherboard. It's your choice really. The 560ti 448 isn't a bad card. You may find it a bit short later on. rest of the build looks ok.

It's rare to get RAM incompatibility these days.

ok, well this what list looks like after some of the recommedations.

I cant get a GeForce 600 series until prices come down.
By the way is the PCU enough for my system, 600w should be enough?

The PSU will be fine :)

Make sure the ram is low profile as the chances are it may interfere With the CPU cooler.

What is the computer for? You can fit a better gpu into that budget id you get cheaper ram and cpu cooler.
