NOT by choice but i have been in many i must say and not very pleasant, usually drunk, angry people, just been in a confrontation tonight actually and the usual fear consumed me, some prat hating on some other guy and the accuser came to me for some reassurance so i told him where to go and i was pretty nasty about it, as i hate seeing people picked on, had quite a few punches to the faces in my time and yet i never felt any need to hit back.

Yet this guy tonight was a real bully *******(picking on some other guy) and i know a lot of people who would have just battered the hell into him so i thought i would stand my ground and tell him to **** off, i would never be physical but still a bit shaken and i must say certainly not the first time by a long shot that i have been in such a situation, in fact i have been in various fist fight (again not by choice), so sick of it, get me out of here please.

I don't go looking for trouble but I won't take any abuse either. If someone is in my face and being threatening I will drop them as quickly as possible. Pre-emptive strikes are not just for governments.

That's not really a fight though. Hitting someone before giving them the chance to react is just a sucker punch really.

You have been in many??

What kind of dodgy places do you go to that have you in a confrontation so many times? Or do you have one of those faces that people don't get tired of punching?

Having been in quite a few confrontations and on the receiving end of a few bad kickings, I learned quickly not to allow people to beat their chest and get the swingers up to actually hit me. I learned very quickly that that beautiful part of the dance is a waste of time. If you have some drunk idiot in your face calling you all the names under the sun and being aggressive, it's amazing how quickly the situation fizzles out when you drop him like a sack of spuds.

I try and engineer a situation where the confrontation ends up with my aggressor lying on top of me, struggling. "It's not gay if you don't push back," I whisper, my voice hoarse with longing, and press myself against them.

Nope, haven't been in many fights in my life.

I'm quite good at avoiding them, and I'm a very fast runner :)

That's a good question, i think yes to the face question but i think people also see me as a figure of authority and just love to have a pop. I always wanted to be a cop.

I nearly got into a fight once with some aggressive youths from the hood, I just break danced my way out of it.

Now I imagine you like this:

I like it bro you keep being brave, and i mean that.

I've had a few people being very confrontational, threatening to punch me. One said he'd love to kick me in the head until I bled to death.

Thus far no-one actually has though.

It's not about being brave. It's scary as hell. As you said in your OP, the fear hits. It's just about getting yourself out of the situation as quickly as possible. You could spend a minute puffing up your chest along with the aggressor and trading insults... but all that is, is both parties squaring off to see who is going to throw the first punch. And getting punched isn't nice. So don't get punched first.
