So i've just ordered some Corsair Dom Platinum...

On Z77 yeah easy.

You will be limited by the sticks themselves on that one I would say. DDR2600 is easy on Z77.

I've just placed an order for this kit:

My question is though, what are my chances of reaching over 1600mhz on a Z77 system and i5 3570k? I would potentially like to see 1866+

You really need 8 Pack to answer your question.

I also use Corsair Dominator Platinum (the 2400mhz kit) 8 Pack helped me to tune them. We did not try for an overclock on the memory not a lot of point on X79 for everyday use. But there was a lot of room for improvement in the timmings.

I have seen an article somewhere with someone doing a big overclock on a kit but I can not remember if it was 1600mhz or 1866mhz before they started.

Well it's promising either way, reaching 2133 from a 1600mhz kit would be epicly good!

8pack mind giving me a hand when i receive my kit? Im not experienced with overclocking ram so any help will be very much appreciated :)

I'm using a MSI Z77MA-G45 mATX board. I'm quite limited to overclocking the cpu but there seems to be a lot more options for ram overclocking on this board.

I'm also currently overclocked to 4.5ghz, not sure if that will have any affect on ram overclock.

Thanks 8pack

I was going to use the Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz Memory on a Asus P8Z68 DELUXE/GEN3 Socket 1155 Intel Z68 ATX Intel Motherboard would it be worthwhile

hmmmmmm I am not an MSI expert but the RAM options will be the same across the board so we could certainly try tuning you a good memory profile. All tuning depends on the strength of the IMC on the CPU these days but 2133 should be attainable.

Alright guys i got my ram today!!! The stuff is legendary! I mean it's god like with the aura glow :D

Absolutely nothing yet, i have never overclocked ram so a complete novice.

I want to achieve a nice 2133mhz if possible, any timings and voltages i could use/try.

Im currently set to xmp profile

I've just tried the following timing:

9-10-9-27 with 2T command rate... tried both 1.5v and 1.65v, result was it loops restart over and over again.. never boots :(

Anything else i can try?

Try something like 11-13-11-30-2T to get started @ 1.65v and then tighten them down from there, or even aim for a slightly lower memory speed like 1866mhz?

I've tried both settings and it just loops restart again and again :(

I dont have access to vccio/IMC either on this board...

Help!
